Aldridge talks new additions

Though we rarely like to borrow articles from the official Blazers site, LaMarcus Aldridge sat down with Blazers reporter Casey Holdhal and talked about several things, including his thoughts on new Blazers Steve Blake and Chris Kaman.

Here is what the L-Train had to say:

I think they’re both good for us. Having Steve Blake, a veteran guard out there that can make plays, make life easier for Dame, because Dame can play off the ball some and get easy shots. Steve’s very good at getting easy shots for guys like Wes and Nico. He should be good for us. And having Kaman, that’s going to be big for us having another big that can bang with other fives, having a big that can score in the post, teams can’t try to front me as much. And he’s a decent passer. With everything that he brings to the table, he’s going to make us better.

I love Aldridge in interviews. His first answer always starts with "It was good." I'm optimistic about the season going forward. We really have a chance to take the next step.

As much as people want to elevate Damian Lillard as the face of the franchise, it's Aldridge who will hold that title until he is no longer a Blazer. I like Lillard. It's just Aldridge who has put in eight seasons and is the current Mr. Blazer.

I agree with this. Lillard gets the press, but Aldridge is the leader.
