Overview

The following is the 2024-25 schedule for the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Blazers enter their 55th season in the National Basketball Association. The season features a regular 82-game schedule where the Blazers play each team in their Northwest Division (Denver Nuggets, Minnesota Timberwolves, Oklahoma City Thunder and Utah Jazz) four times and each team from the Eastern Conference twice in equal home-and-away series. They play the other teams in the Western Conference three or four times. The wild card is the NBA's In-Season Tournament. Two games will be played during November as qualifying games for the tournament. From there, the Blazers will play two more games against opponents to be determined. Following the two qualifying games, the remaining two games will be held between December 10 to 17.

Regular season play begins on October 23 with a home date against the Golden State Warriors. Then, there is a two-game homestand against the New Orleans Pelicans. The NBA has scheduled some of these back-to-back series over the past few years in order to reduce travel for visiting teams. The months are broken up fairly evenly from a home-and-away standpoint with, perhaps November which features six home games and nine games on the road. December's schedule has six at home and four on the road, but one in each category can be added with the additions of the NBA Cup contests. January is the busiest month of the season for the Blazers as they play 16 games. They play 15 games in the months of November and March. Portland concludes its season with three of their last four at home over the San Antonio Spurs, Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers; the latter of which is a Sunday matinee on April 13.

The longest homestands of the season are seven games, and it happens twice. The first takes place from January 26 to February 6  which primarily sees the team take on teams from the midwestern United States and the West Coast. The second comes in mid-to-late March, the 12th through the 25th, which sees the team on an eastern swing with a pair of Western Conference foes thrown in for good measure. Portland's longest road trip is also seven games and it happens just once, from February 24 to March 7. The NBA All-Star Break is February 13 to 29.

Portland's pre-season slate consists of four games. The Blazers play a pair of games on the road against the Clippers and Sacramento Kings. Then they host Ratiopharm ULM, and team out of Germany and then the regional rival Utah Jazz.

The Blazers play their home games at the Moda Center at the Rose Quarter in northeast Portland. For this schedule, all times are pacific time. Local broadcasts of Blazers games in 2024-25 will be Broadcast live through the ROOT Sports system, which is available in the pacific northwest and Alaska. The one planned exception is the home game against the Milwaukee Bucks on January 28 which will be televised on TNT. The Blazers also have contracted for streaming games on Evoca TV, which is a streaming service costing subscribers a monthly fee with an additional cost for its streaming equipment. MONTHLY UPDATE: The Trail Blazers ended the first (partial) month of the season with mixed, yet optimistic results. They are 2-3 overall, 1-2 at home and 1-1 on the road. The big win came over the New Orleans Pelicans on October 27 by a 125-103 margin. Now, it's early in the season, but there could be hope for an upswing as opposed to last season.

The Blazers are tied for 11th in the Western Conference with four other teams, and they are just a game back of being one of the top 10 teams in the conference. The Oklahoma City Thunder are the number one team in the conference with a 4-0 mark through the first (partial) month of the season.

Anfernee Simons leads the team with a 20.6-point scoring average, followed by Jerami Grant with 18.6 points. Second-year guard Scoot Henderson comes in third with 15.6, and leads the team with 5.6 assists per game. Starting center Deandre Ayton is scoring 14.2 points per game and hauling down 12.2 boards per contest. Grant and rookie Donovan Clingen are each averaging 1.8 blocks.

The Blazers open up November at home against the Thunder before going out on a four-game midwest road trip. They have four at home after that, then five back on the road. They close out the season with a home date against the Sacramento Kings on November 30. They do not play on Thanksgiving this season.

MONTHLY UPDATE: The Trail Blazers had a respectable, if not necessarily impressive month of November. They finished the month 6-9 overall, 4-2 at home and 2-7 on the road. After starting 1-5 in November, they won the next three games at home, including a pair of back-to-back contests against the Minnesota Timberwolves. In a bit of a stumble, the Blazers won just one of a five-game Midwestern road trip. They finished on a high note with a 115-106 win at home over the Sacramento Kings.

At 8-12 on the season, they sit in fourth place with an 8-12 record overall and a 13th overall position in the Western Conference. They're just 2.5 games back of the San Antonio Spurs who sit in the 10th spot. The Oklahoma City Thunder lead the Conference with a mark of 15-4. In their first three NBA Cup qualifying games, they went 2-1 with a chance to add a third win on December 3 when they visit the Los Angeles Clippers.

Second-year guard Shaedon Sharpe leads the team with 17.7 points per game. Anfernee Simons and Jerami Grant comes in at 16.7 and 16.1 points, respectively. Deandre Ayton adds a team-high 10.5 rebounds to 14.5 points through the first quarter of the season. Rookie center Donovan Clingan, who saw the first starts of his career in November, is third in the entire NBA with 2.2 blocks per game in just 17 minutes per contest. Scoot Henderson leads the team with 5.4 assists and Toumani Camara averages 1.6 steals.

The Blazers are back in action on December 1 with a home date against the Dallas Mavericks -- the first of three contests against the Mavs during the month. Their fourth and final NBA Cup qualifier comes on the third against the Clippers. Nine of the team's 10 games in December are against Western Conference opponents with the month ending at home against the Philadelphia 76ers. Bewteen December 10-17, they will play at least two additional NBA Cup games. Should they become the Group A champion in the Cup, those would come by way of the playoffs of the tournament.
