Nicolas Batum is helped to the locker room. (photo courtesy of Bruce Ely/The Oregonian)Nov. 11 -- Forward Nicolas Batum has been ruled out until at least the Blazers Nov. 17 home game against the New Orleans Pelicans due to a right knee contusion he suffered against the Denver Nuggets on Nov. 8. An MRI concluded that Batum had suffered the knee contusion, per team sources. He had originally been listed as questionable. However, the team opted to hold him out for up to three games. The Blazers have started Allen Crabbe in Batum's place in the past two games, and have earned wins over the Charlotte Hornets and at the Denver Nuggets. Batum suffered the injury with about a minute left in the Blazers home victory over the Denver Nuggets on Nov. 8 as he went up for a defensive rebound and appeared to knocked his leg against Nuggets' center Timofey Mozgov. He was helped to the locker room by teammate Dorell Wright and athletic trainer Geoff Clark. Batum is averaging 9.0 points, 7.7 rebounds 5.7 assists and 1.0 steals this season. He started in all of the Blazers 82 games last season and in each of the team's seven games thus far this season. The Blazers won the game, 116-100. The Blazers face the Brooklyn Nets on Nov. 15 the Moda Center at the Rose Quarter. Tip off is scheduled for just after 7 p.m. To comment, please login or register- ANM

Thanks for the update. I'm glad it's not more serious.

even if Nico is out a week or so, it really looked a lot worse when he was being taken off the court. this is a sort of good news.

George Hill of the Pacers is yet to play this season from the same injury, so I'm glad Nic's is nothing too serious.
