Nov. 17 -- The NBA has announced that Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard has been named the Western Conference Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 10-16.
It is the first such honor for the third-year player out of Weber St. During the Blazers 3-0 week (the team is on a four-game winning streak), he averaged 28.0 points, 8.7 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 1.3 steals. He also shot 70 percent from behind the three-point arc during the week, making 14 of 20 attempts.
The Blazers registered three wins during the week; beating Charlotte, Denver and Brooklyn. He scored 28 points and dished out 10 assists in the Blazers 97-87 win over the Nets on Nov. 15.
Cleveland's LeBron James was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week.
