As the CFB season comes to the end of what has been a great season, especially with the new playoff system, the talk of Heisman has arrived to what is the last week to prove yourself. But is their any player really close to Marcus Mariota? This year he has stayed healthy, finally got the STANFORD bump out of the way and has the Oregon Ducks in prime position (being they beat Arizona) to win its first national title in football in decades... Who if any player will challenge him?

Hey! At this point I think the only one who will beat him is himself. If he has a poor game against Arizona, then it could open the door to someone else. Otherwise he will probably win it.

I thought Barret from Ohio St. had a shot but unfortunately, he is out now.

Luck should have won it three years ago. Mariota probably deserves it, but beware of east coast voters.

four years ago Newton should have been disqualified and three years ago Griffin won it for three good games. other than than, he was average and had some really bad games. Luck was robbed both years by voters with an east coast bias or the mere fact that we play games later than what they will watch. if memory serves me correctly, the Ducks played a lot of games earlier in the day which means voters in the east would have had a better chance to see Mariota at work. that alone could be worth a few votes for him, in the event the voting is close.

Mariota has earned it this year. The others have had great seasons, but it should be his.

I would agree that Luck got burned, being out here on the west coast is usually a factor, another factor is the ESPN owns part of the SEC network and the ACC network, which i think can damper us PAC 12 teams also... its in their interest to keep those conferences on TV and relevant. This year though, its to hard to keep focus off the PAC 12 because we have to much talent from top to bottom.
