Feb. 26 - Strong performances in three straight games certainly do not go unnoticed.
Blazers guard Damian Lillard has been named the NBA's Western Conference Player of the Week for the week ending March 1.
In the Blazers three wins last week over the Spurs, Thunder and Kings, Lillard averaged 26.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 5.7 assists. He also shot 49.1 percent from the field, 93.3 percent from the line and 50.0 from three-point land.
It is the second time in his career that he has won the honor, with both occurring this season.
Lillard, in his third season out of Weber St., is averaging 21.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, 6.2 assists and 1.4 steals this season. He is shooting 43.6 percent from the field, 86.1 percent from the line and 34.4 percent from behind the three-point line. He is one of two Blazers, along with Wesley Matthews, who has started every game this season.
The Celtics' Isaiah Thomas was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week.
The Blazers visit the Clippers on March 4 at 7:30 p.m.

Most people probably would have thought Westbrook would have won this. He missed a game and his team lost a couple of games despite his big numbers. It just goes to show that wins trump everything.
