6/23/15 --
Spokane Shock QB Carson Coffman has been named the Riddell Offensive Player of the Week for Week 13.
Head Coach Andy Olson named Coffman the starter prior to the Sunday night game against the Portland Thunder, benching rookie QB Warren Smith in favor of Coffman, who last started in Week 6 against the New Orleans Voodoo.
Coffman had an explosive first half for the Shock, throwing 6 TDs in the first half. He finished the game 20/32, 328 yards, 9 TD, and 0 INT. 5 of the 9 touchdown passes went to WR Nick Truesdell, who is a nominee for Week 13 MVP.
According to the AFL Press release, Coffman beat out Arizona’s Nick Davila, Philadelphia’s Dan Raudabaugh, San Jose’s Darius Reynolds, and Tampa Bay’s Jason Boltus.
The other AFL Week 13 winners include:
Riddell Defensive Player of the Week - DE Mike McAdoo, Arizona Rattlers J Lewis Small Playmaker of the Week - WR Gerald Young, Las Vegas Outlaws Cutters Catch of the Week - WR Julius Gregory, Tampa Bay Storm AFL Highlight of the Week - DB Josh Victorian, Los Angeles KISS.
The Shock host the San Jose SaberCats June 26th at Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena. Kickoff is at 7 p.m PST and will be broadcast locally on SWX and on Radio 700 ESPN.
