SurferGirl, DiamondThief, and 2 more like this

It's been nearly two years since the inception of this forum.
As most of you know by now, it started as an alternative blog site after the Portland Trail Blazers organization disbanded its Blazer Blogger Network. Obviously, and quite quickly, it turned into much more than just a place for sports fans to post blogs. But that is all ancient history.
Over the past 12 months, this forum has included news on arena football, NBA basketball, college football, pro football, hockey, soccer and many, many other areas of sport. It's been a strong year and only time constraints have prevented us from truly delving deeper and expanding into the teams and sports we have wished.
As with year one, our second year was driven by our general manager, DiamondThief, the game previews and the game threads. While I would love to see more activity on a regular thread update, I will stick to what I have said previously: No one runs a better game thread than Angi. None at all. She has quite literally been the engine which makes this forum run. As the founder of this forum, I am thrilled. As her oldest sister, I am quite proud of her.
One area of which I am most proud is the addition of the Spokane Shock to the Arena Football League board. It marks the first, consistent addition of a team outside of Oregon which we cover on a regular basis, sans college football. It was an important step in our evolution. Angi was wholly responsible for making the connections and setting up that forum. To that end, David has done a terrific job of bringing the enthusiasm to the Shock forum. Going forward, getting more Shock fans to participate will be a key.
Our President, SurferGirl has continued to police the forum, as well as fill in in running the game threads. She also has done a very nice job of adding preview threads and other news items. Julianne is the rock of our forum and has never wavered in her integrity or steadiness.
Over the past year, we added in-depth coverage of the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup. My hat is off to Yeseeka for putting that all together.
As terrific as our past year has been, we are facing some changes to the forum over the next year. Some are big changes, and others are more minor.
One of the larger features of our forum has been the game threads. We've had several active game threads during the season and at times they've been very lively. Unfortunately, for the upcoming season, we will be unable to continue those. Our general manager will be in her freshman year in college, and myself and Julianne will be in the midst of graduate school. Couple that with the fact that Portland is already over saturated with game threads.
I would love to continue the game threads for Blazers games, but sadly, the feasibility is something we will be unable to continue. That is the most single change we will be making.
We will look to expand some of our coverage of the Portland Timbers, Portland Thorns and Portland Winterhawks, and perhaps a little more on some other teams. Something I have resisted doing is simply copying and pasting someone else's article on our forum. That being said, we will work on adding some game releases for those teams to improve the overall coverage of those teams which, I admit quite honestly, has been lacking.
We will continue to be the number one source for all things Portland Thunder. No sports site has more items of interest regarding the Thunder than this one. It's been an exciting, albeit frustrating at times, ride over these first two seasons. Next season will be their third and we will be here for it. Perhaps it will be the season the team breaks out and makes a real run toward an ArenaBowl title.
We also will continue to showcase the Shock. They're making a return trip to the playoffs this year and will face the Arizona Rattlers in the first round; a team they beat just three weeks ago. David has been putting forth a series of season-by-season analysis threads to bring us up to speed with the Shock. I encourage everyone to take a look at and participate in those threads.
College football season is nearly upon us. As these kickoffs draw near, we will look to have some threads for marquee games and games of the week and so on. We plan to continue to focus on the Pac-12 North, as well as some other teams of interest to our current members. Julianne will be working on the schedules over the next week. I encourage activity. It promises to be a highly competitive season.
I want to personally thank everyone who has visited and contributed to this forum. We have had a solid two years and you are the ones who have made it so successful. We can only go up from here.
We have constantly been looking at ways to enhance the forum, attract new members and help build this forum as we move forward I once again call for all of you to bring new members here. We can add several people and I would ask that each person go to relatives, friends and fellow fans.
With that, I will once again say thank you. I can't wait to see what year three brings.
