i wanted to take a moment to let everybody know that Angi is doing all right.
as many of you already know, last friday she was working out at school in preparation for softball tryouts and she cut wrong and ended up, as we found out later, tearing her ACL in her left knee. she's been very down for quite a while. she's upset about the season basically being gone because of the injury. she won't be able to play softball for the team in the spring.
she had surgery on wednesday (the 18th). she is recovering now and will begin a rehab soon. the surgery was successful and the doctors say that everything's been repaired. Julie had given us some information on what's involved in this surgery and basically what they say it is it took a tendon out of her quadricep and then put it into the knee to replace the ACL. obviously, it's more detailed than that, but that's the idea.
as most of you know, Angi is an extremely optimistic person, but right now she's feeling quite down and she's questioning herself, because the whole reason she went to a Boise State was too try and make the softball team. she wanted to do what she did in high school which was to lead his team to a championship.
i wanted to let everyone know what is going on. i will try to keep you updated as i find out more.

We're all pulling for her. I plan to spend as much time next week when we're home just trying to build her up. She's too awesome to let this slow her down.

It's unfortunate that this had to happen, especially to such a competitor like Angi. That said, I truly hope she doesn't blame herself for what happened. She shouldn't blame herself for something that's out of her control.
Physical therapy isn't fun and ACL takes a lot of hard work to recover from. But if there's one thing I can say from knowing Angi for such a short time, she's a strong and motivated individual. This will only fuel her to build her strength and prepare for next year. It sucks she won't play this spring, but I can see her using this injury as motivation to prepare for the next season.
Get well soon, DiamondThief.

Keep in mind here, we're talking about someone who learned how to surf in less than two days! She will be motivated. She is really the one who made this site what it is. Kasey will tell you that. I have faith in her.
Angi: We ALL are behind you! Never stop fighting!

I truly hope that the recovery process goes to plan. Being the competitor that Angi is, I know she will bounce back and make the team next season.
Take care!

Angi has an appointment with her orthopedist wednesday morning, then she is coming home for Thanksgiving with my mom and brother.
