Breakdown
RATTLERS
Arizona makes its first trip to Green Bay in over 27 months. The Rattlers calmed the Blizzard in that matchup but a tally of 51-21 on February 24, 2019. They're looking to rebound after falling to the Sioux Falls Storm on the road. This will be the third straight road game to start the season for the Blizzard. Former IFL Offensive Player of the year Drew Powell takes the helm for the Rattlers. Powell is completing 71.4 percent of his passes for 283 yards with three touchdowns and a pair of interceptions. He also has rushed for 111 yards and four scores. Arizona features a couple solid running backs in veteran Darrell Monroe and Nick LeSane. They also come into the game with a talented trio of receivers in the likes of Jamal Miles (who also doubles as a runner), Jarrod Harrington and Jeremiah Harris. Any one of them is capable of making the big play. Chris McAllister is an anchor on the defensive line. Look for Playmakers Treyvon Williams, Devin Cockrell and Dillon Winfrey to make an impact on defense. Ernesto Lacayo is one of the more accurate kickers in the IFL.
BLIZZARD
Green Bay's current roster bares little resemblance to the team which lost to the Rattlers in week 1 of the 2019 season. Including this game, the Blizzard will have started the 2021 season with five of their first six games at home. A win this week over the Rattlers would be a huge statement for the team which finished 2019 with a 9-5 mark and home field advantage in the first round of the playoffs. Both of Green Bay's losses this season have come at the hands of the Bismarck Bucks. Rookie Damion May will get the start at quarterback. He is completing 57 percent of his passes for 290 yards with 12 touchdowns and no interceptions. He also has 137 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Kerrion Moore comes in with 126 yards and four scores on the ground. Eric Thomas, Jr., Treyvon Saunders, Kezlow Smith and Keshaun Taylor have combined for 12 scoring grabs. Momodu Mbye has 37 tackles and two interceptions, Mason Gray has three picks and Dajon Emory leads with three sacks and 5.5 tackles for loss. Cody Barber is one of the league's most reliable kickers.
