Breakdown
BLIZZARD
Green Bay finds itself on the outside looking in when it comes to the playoffs. The Blizzard have five games left to try and make their case for one of the eight playoffs spots in the IFL (rumors of the league reducing the playoff field to six have not been confirmed). The Blizzard are looking for a win and to get on track in their final five games. However, it could be an uphill battle as they play all five of those games on the road; four of those teams which currently have records above .500. Brook Bolles has gotten the start in the past two games at quarterback, including July 25's win at home over the Barnstormers. In those two games, he has completed 51 percent of his passes for 309 yards with six touchdowns and no interceptions. Kerrion Moore averages 33.6 yards per game with seven touchdowns. The talented receiver group includes Keshaun Taylor, Kezlow Smith and Treyvon Saunders. Momodu Mbye and Diondre Wallace each have 61 tackles with Mbye leading the team with four picks. Bakari Triggs comes in with 60 tackles.
BARNSTORMERS
Iowa is on the precipice of a playoff spot. The Barnstormers, like the Blizzard, are looking at this point to get back in the playoff positioning. They have a chance to move up in the standings and secure a playoff berth. They stand at 4-4 and to gain a spot in the postseason, they are going to have to turn it up a notch. Like the Blizzard, all of the Barnstormers games are against teams who are over .500. Les Miles and Daquan Neal will have to put something special together after their bye week to accomplish their goal. Neal is completing 52 percent of his passes for 1,274 with 27 touchdowns and just four picks. He also rushes for 49.1 yards per game with 11 scores. Elad Covaliu rushes for 37 yards per game and has eight touchdowns. Carrington Thompson, Sr. and Connor Hollenbeck are the leading receivers in the Barnstormers' run-heavy offense; combining to catch nearly a score for every reception. Tony Jones leads the defense with 57 tackles and two sacks, while John McCLure has 10 pass breakups.
