Breakdown
GLADIATORS
Duke City is in the thick of the hunt for a trip to the postseason in this, their first IFL season. The Gladiators won the past two Champions Indoor Football titles before moving over to the IFL. Aside from this contest, there are some winnable games on the Gladiators' roster. They face two teams below them in the standings in the Northern Arizona Wranglers and Tucson Sugar Skulls, as well as the season finale against the Bismarck Bucks at home. The Gladiators also would like to avenge their week 9 loss to the Rattlers this week. Nate Davis' 59 touchdown tosses this season are tops in the IFL and it's not even close. Alejandro Bennifield of the Massachusetts Pirates is second at 30. He's completing 63 percent of his passes with just eight interceptions. Raymond Taylor is the team's top rusher. Dello Davis is second in the IFL with 65.5 receiving yards per game with a league high of 23 touchdown catches. Xavier Amey and Jared Elmore have 28 scoring grabs between them. Ray Jones, Jr. and Paul Robinson are the top playmakers on defense with 49 and 43 tackles, respectively.
RATTLERS
For Arizona, it's not about just making the playoffs; that has already been accomplished. For the Rattlers, it is all about retaining the first seed and homefield throughout -- including the United Bowl should they reach that point. The simplest way to accomplish that would be to win all their remaining games. They are a half game ahead of the Frisco Fighters in the standings and play them in the season finale win week 18. However, if they drop a single game and the Massachusetts Pirates win out, the Pirates would win the tiebreaker; only if the Fighters were to lose one of their final score. Drew Powell has been at his 2018 MVP form. He's completing 69 percent of his throws with 21 scores and six picks. His 66.1 yards and 24 scores on the ground lead the league. Nick LaSane and Darrell Monroe have rotates at running back for the Rattlers all season. Jarrod Harrington and Jamal Miles combine for 13 receiving touchdowns. Dillon Winfrey and Devin Cockrell lead the Rattlers in tackles with 45 tackles apiece. Winfrey also has three picks, and Nikolas D'Avanzo has five sacks.
