Breakdown
BLIZZARD
Green Bay has been a story of two sides of the ball this season. The Blizzard possess a strong defense, but have struggled on offense at times. That said, they seem to have salvaged some hope for the season with the emergence of Jack Sheehan at quarterback. After dropping their first four games of the season, they have won two straight, including knocking off the defending champion Massachusetts Pirates in overtime two weeks ago. Sheehan is completing 54 percent of his passes for for 511 yards with 12 touchdowns and two picks. He has combined for four rushing touchdowns in the past two weeks, equaling 100 yards on the season. Toren Young averages 36 yards on the ground. Dez Stewart comes in with 20 catches for 234 yards and six touchdowns, and Keshaun Taylor has 21 receptions for 223 yards and a team-high seven scores. James Brown is one of the top defenders in the league with his 46 tackles and 9.5 tackles for loss, while Momodu Mbye is not far behind with 45 tackles. Mason Gray adds 33 tackles and a pair of interceptions, and Tyrell Jacobs has 24 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss and a sack. Nick Jaworski struggled earlier this season, but has become more accurate as the year has progressed.
STEAMWHEELERS
Quad City has been competitive in all six contests this year, but has had to content with the Massachusetts Pirates and Frisco Fighters in April. That accounted for two of the Steamwheelers three losses on the season. At 3-3 they face a slate of very winnable games, including a pair of games over the Blizzard in a span of 14 days. The Steamwheelers could very well put themselves in position to make a strong playoff push with some wins over the next month. E.J. Hillard had a rough outing in his return two weeks ago, but completed 13 of 22 passes for 201 yards in last week's win over the Bismarck Bucks. He threw for three scores and rushed for another in the game. Kerrion Moore has 126 yards rushing and four touchdowns. Moore also has 17 receptions for 171 yards and a pair of scoring grabs. Mike Carrigan comes in with 16 catches for 212 yards and four touchdowns, while Keyvan Rudd has 11 receptions for 131 yards and two touchdowns through the air. The defense is paced by Darreon Jackson's 43 tackles and in interception. Nate Sheets and Malik Duncan come in with 26 and 24 tackles, respectively, and Jaylin Swan has recorded a pair of sacks. Kicker Kimo Naehu has one of the stronger legs in the league.
