Breakdown
GLADIATORS
If someone were just looking at the IFL standings (below), they might think Duke City has a lack of talent. The opposite of that is what is actually true. Two of their five losses have come to the 6-0 Arizona Rattlers and another to the Frisco Fighters. Both teams lead their respective conferences. They score 38.7 points per game and allow 45.3 per game. Ramone Atkins has stepped in adequately in place of the injured Nate Davis. He is completing 60 percent of his throws for 849 yards, 20 touchdowns and a single interception. He also has rushed for six touchdowns in four starts. Davontae Jackson has scored a pair of touchdowns on the ground. With the Gladiators being the top passing team in the league, the receivers come in with some very impressive numbers. Dello Davis leads the league with 35 catches for 438 yards and 10 touchdowns. Jared Elmore's 374 yards are fourth and nine touchdowns are tied for third. Byron Cooper and Jayson Serda lead the team in tackles with 41 and 36, respectively, and each have two sacks. Jimmy Thomas leads the team with three sacks. Kevin Goessling serves as the Gladiators' kicker.
PANTHERS
Bay Area is reeling after losing six straight. The Panthers won their opener, but have struggled since. Their 220 points scored are the third-lowest in the IFL this season. They are looking to get on track and make a mark in their first season, but they are fighting an uphill battle in their inaugural season. The Panthers average the second-lowest points per game (31.4) and allow the second most (53.6). Joe Newman comes in as the team's top passer with a 35 percent completion percent with three touchdowns and five picks. Duane Gary averages 32.5 yards per game with seven trips to the end zone. Kameron Pleasant has been the most consistent receiver for the Panthers with his 216 yards and five touchdowns. In two fewer games, Daniel Crowell, Jr. comes in with 16 catches for 168 yards and four scoring grabs. Derik Calhoun's 52 tackles leads the team, and Raysean Pringle has 27 and two interceptions. Stevie Artigue handles the kicking duties.
