Breakdown
BUCKS
Bismarck stood at 3-2 less than a month ago, but have dropped three straight; all at home. This is the first of a pair of games this season between the Bucks and Barnstormers. The Bucks have been outscored 129-59 the past three weeks, so they will be looking to reverse that trend in this one. The Bucks are scoring 33.6 points per game (11th) and are giving up 39.6 (10th). Jayru Campbell and Tahj Tolbert have split time at quarterback this season. They've thrown for 561 and 399 yards, respectively, but neither has taken strong hold over the position. Campbell is more mobile, having rushed for a team-high 238 yards and eight touchdowns. Benjamin Glines has 140 yards and two touchdowns on the ground with another six through the air, but was placed on refuse to report (not neccisary a refusal, at a deignation to keep on the roster). Edgar Allen Poe, Jr. has 251 receiving yards along with seven Alexis Rosario adds 207 yards and four scoring grabs. Jalen Hicks adds 28 takedowns of his own for the defense. Reginald Gantt, Jr. has two picks. Chase Allbaugh has been a bright spot in the kicking game.
BARNSTORMERS
Iowa is jockeying for playoff positioning even this early in the season. The Barnstormers are tied for third in the Eastern Conference standings with the Sioux Falls Storm. They've split two games already with the Storm with one remaining. The Barnstormers can rise in the standings with a win over the Bucks as they head into the second half of their season. They are scoring 41.5 points per game (fifth) and allowing 37.8 (seventh). Darius-James Peterson has been the starter since week one. He is a dual-threat at the position in the mold of former Barnstormer quarterbacks Drew Powell and Daquan Neal. Peterson threw for four touchdowns and an interception in Iowa's win over the Steamwheelers last week. Antonio Wimbush will see some carries in the running game. The Barnstormers feature a talented receiving group which includes Kentrez Bell, Kezlow Smith, Dom McNeil and Alvin Bailey. Jordan Baldwin has 59 tackles to lead the defense. Ian McBurrough adds 52 tackles, 9.0 tackles for loss and two interceptions. Gabriel Rui is one of the better kickers in the league.
