Breakdown
KNIGHT HAWKS
At times, Vegas seems like it may be on the cusp of something special during their inaugural season, but at others step back is taken. Still, at 4-6 overall, they are in a position to make some noise in the Western Conference. That task is unenviable this week with a visit to the Fighters, which knocked off the Arizona Rattlers at Phoenix last week. The Knight Hawks score 33.2 points per game (12th) and allow 37.4 (7th). Jerod Evans has been a spark since joining the team four games ago. He comes in completing 64 percent of his passes for 550 yards with 12 touchdowns and a pair of interceptions. He has taken over the lead in the rushing game with 121 yards and five scores. Jordan Conkrite is the featured running back. Dezmon Epps leads the team in receiving with 273 yards and five touchdowns. Jordan McCray adds 211 yads with four scores. Jericho Flowers' 52 tackles lead the team and he also has a pair of interceptions. Javian Fergerson adds 43 tackles, while Kai Higgins has 11 tackles for loss. Mister Harriel is a disruptor in the backfield with 27 tackles and two picks. Nolan Kohorst is solid as the team's kicker.
FIGHTERS
Frisco has taken over the lead in the Eastern Conference over the past three weeks. The Fighters are flying high after shooting down the Arizona Rattlers last week and are poised to stay on a roll during the second half of the season. They play just two games against teams with winning records (current standings noted) in their final seven games. They are scoring 47.7 points per game (third) and allowing 39.8 (eighth). While Blake Sims has started the bulk of games this season for Frisco, it was T.J. Edwards who stepped in to finish off the Rattlers. Both are likely to see some action in this one. Sims has thrown for 16 touchdowns with three picks and Edwards has seven scoring tosses with one interception. They have rushed for six and eight touchdowns, respectively. Justin Rankin is the league leader in rushing with 499 yards, 18 touchdowns, and four scores through the air. Sheldon Augustine leads the receivers with 32 catches for 410 yards, along with five scores. Trey Wafford leads the team with 46 tackles, while Charles Williams has 3.5 sacks, and Santos Ramirez 3 picks. Bryce Crawford kicks for Frisco.
