Breakdown
STRIKE FORCE
San Diego is not completely out of the playoff race. With five games left in the season, however, it would likely take a miracle as the Strike Force are 3.5 games out of a playoff heading into this week. They could play a bid of spoiler in this one by impeding the Knight Hawks' chanced for a postseason bid. The Strike Force score 35.7 points per game (10th) and allow 51.7 (12th). Jorge Reyna has been decent in three starts, but the team could go back to Steve Cluley, who has returned from short term IR. Reyna has two touchdowns and two picks in his time in San Diego, while Cluley led the Strike Force to their two wins this season. Davontae Sapp-Lynch is the featured back for the team. Rashad Ross has been outstanding with his 473 yards and right touchdowns this season, while Marques Rodgers comes in with 365 receiving yards and five touchdowns, as well as seven rushing scores. The defense is led by David Haney's 53 tackles and three interceptions. Daquawn "Cheetah" Brown adds 46 tackles and an interception, while Terrence Fullum leads the line. Tanner Kuljian has been solid as the team's kicker this year.
KNIGHT HAWKS
Vegas is still in contention for a playoff spot, but is on the outside looking in, standing a game and a half out of contention. The Knight Hawks will look to duplicate their success from their first matchup against the Strike Force on May 14 -- a 45-point win at San Diego. They are coming off two losses to playoff-positioned teams. They score 32.1 points per game (12th) and allow 37.8 (seventh). Jerod Evans enters the game completing 58 percent of his throws for 127.6 yards per game, 13 touchdowns and just two interceptions. He is rushing for 28.4 yards an outing to go along with five touchdowns. Jordan Conkrite is the featured back with two rushing scores in three appearances. Dez Epps leads the receiving group with 273 receiving yards (45.5 per game) and Jordan McCray comes in with 238 yards through the air. Each has caught five touchdown passes. Jerricho Flowers leads the defense with 52 tackles to co with two interceptions. Javahn Ferguson has recorded 43 tackles, while Gabe McCoy and Kaden Hicks have 38 apiece. Nolan Kohorst has been effective as the Knight Hawks' kicker the majority of the season.
