Breakdown
RATTLERS
At the beginning of the season Arizona likely did not expect the result of this game to put the winner in first place in the Western Conference with a quarter left in the regular season. But, that's what this is. The Rattlers have the history behind them, so the question will be if they can overcome the league's top defense. This is the first of a pair of matchups between the teams. They have the IFL's top offense at 55.5 points per game and allow 31.1 points (third). Drew Powell is one of the top quarterbacks in the league as he leads the league with a 65.4 completion percentage, and is first with 1,675 yards and 34 touchdowns (tied). He also rushes for 34.6 yards per game with 13 touchdowns. Shannon Brooks scored five of his 13 touchdowns in last week's 83-21 win over the Bay Area Panthers. Braxton Haley is third in receiving yards with 562 to go along with 11 touchdowns. Jamal Miles adds 449 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. Davontae Merriweather's 60 tackles lead the team, while Kyree Woods has 48 tackles and four interceptions. Dillon Winfrey also has four picks. Ernesto Lacayo is a veteran kicker who can be relied upon at any moment during a game.
WRANGLERS
Like Rattlers, Northern Arizona probably did not expect to be be tied for the Western Conference lead with the opportunity to move into first with a win. It would be the Wranglers first-ever win over the Rattlers a signature win in their two-season history. After a week one loss to the Vegas Knight Hawks in which they scored just nine points, the Wranglers have won nine of their last 10. They score 42.1 points per game (fourth) and allow a league-low 28.3. Kaleb Barker is second in the IFL with 1,508 rushing yards, and has 30 touchdowns against 11 interceptions. He completes over 59 percent of his throws, and is fourth in rushing with 428 yards and another 11 scores. Israel Tucker has six rushing touchdowns. He is also a threat out of the backfield. Glen Gibbons, Jr. has 399 receiving yards with 10 touchdowns. Ulice Gillard adds 235 yards and three scores. Mercardo Anderson leads the team with 53 tackles and four interceptions. Darin Hungerford adds 46 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss and a team-leading 4.5 sacks. JaQuan Artis is second in the league with seven sacks. Brandon Fischer has proved himself to be one of the most reliable kickers in the league.
