BUCKS
Bismarck is seeing its playoff hopes slipping away. While the Bucks are mathematically in the hunt, they are quickly heading in the wrong direction. They have dropped eight straight and will need a major turnaround and a lot of help if they are to salvage their season. They fought the Storm tough on the road last week, but fell by five points. They score 34.0 points per game (11th) and scoring 41.3 (10th). New signee Giovanni Sanders started his first game for the Bucks last week. He finished 15 of 23 for 136 yards with a touchdown and an interception in his debut. He also rushed for two touchdowns. Vander Edward is the lead back. Edgar Allen Poe, Jr. leads the receiving group with 390 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns, and Alexis Rosario had 330 yards and eight touchdowns. John Brunner and Robert Brown, Jr also figure into the passing game. Jamal Hicks has 64 tackles and an interception, while Jeff Branch comes in with 36 tackles and five sacks (tied for second in the IFL). Gerod Holliman has a team-high three interceptions. Chase Allbaugh has been a solid kicker for the Bucks this season.
STEAMWHEELERS
Quad City is in the thick of the Eastern Conference playoff race, but they enter this week on the outside looking in. The Steamwheelers have lost two straight, but have an opportunity to put themselves in a solid position entering the fourth quarter of the regular season. They will look to make a playoff push over the last five weeks of the season. They score 39.6 points per game (seventh) and give up 38.5 (eighth). E,J. Hilliard is one of the better quarterbacks in the league, coming in completing 61 percent of his throws for 138.6 yards per game with 19 touchdowns and seven touchdowns. He has 326 rushing yards to go with 15 touchdowns, as well as 327 yards and four touchdowns through the air. Kerrion Moore has six scores on the ground. Keyvan Rudd leads the team with 35 catches for 481 yards and seven touchdowns, while Mike Carrigan has 450 yards and eight touchdowns. Nathan Sheets is third in the IFL with 87 tackles to go along with a sack and a pair of picks. Malik Duncan adds 54 tackles and Jaylin Swan has three sacks.
