SUGAR SKULLS
Tucson has already punched a ticket to the postseason. The Sugar Skulls are fighting for the third seed in the Western Conference. A win here would give them just that and a visit to the Northern Arizona Wranglers in the opening round of the playoffs. A loss and they make a trip to Phoenix to face the Arizona Rattlers. They have beaten each at home this season. They score 48.8 points per game (third) and allow 52.0 (13th). Daquan Neal is the offensive leader of the team with a 62.6 completion percentage, 2,009 yards, 46 touchdowns and six picks. He adds 16 rushing scores to that tally. Mike Jones is the IFL's clear leader with 35 rushing touchdowns to go with 46.0 yards on the ground. Quinton Pedroza has 41 catches for 590 yards and 10 touchdowns, while Carrington Thompson, Sr. has 515 yards and a team-high 13 scores. Ronald Collins and Maurice Jackson have 34.5 and 27.5 tackles, respectively. each have four sacks, and Jackson leads the defense with 11 tackles for loss. Veterans Tony Winslow and Robert Rolle IV provide leadership for the group. Logan Justus has appeared in every game this season as the Tucson kicker.
PANTHERS
While Bay Area has struggled through most of its inaugural season, the Panthers have a chance to play spoiler. The outcome game not only could help determine the third and fourth seeds in the Western Conference, they potentially could affect the Eastern Conference race due to an elaborate set of tiebreakers set up by the IFL this season. They are last in scoring and allowing points per game; 28.7 and 54.9, respectively. With Vincent Espinoza being released this week, Isaac Hurd should get the start. In limited action, he has completed 11 of 25 passes for 141 yards with four touchdowns and a pick. He also has 42 rushing yards. Duane Gary is the lead back, and has been impressive with 449 yards and 16 rushes on the ground. Daniel Crowell, Jr. enters the game with 39 catches for 498 yards and 10 touchdowns. Dre-Sontre Dorton and Isaiah Thomas should see some targets in the game. Derik Calhoun's 73 tackles and seven tackles for loss pace the defense. Jeffrey Allison has 36.5 tackles and a sack, and Khalil Young adds 34 tackles to the defensive effort. Stevie Artigue has been a bright spot for the Panthers with his 46.5-yard kickoff average.
