Breakdown
OILERS
Tulsa got its first taste of IFL action two weeks ago with a 35-13 loss at the Frisco Fighters. The Oilers have since had a bye week to work out some kinks as they prepare for their second straight game on the road. Giovanni Sanders completed nine of his 18 throws for 88 yards with a touchdown and a pick. Bobby Froehlich is likely to see some action in this one as well as the team will likely continue to fine tune the offense. Joshua Robinson was the lead back in the opener and is expected to continue in that role. Joshua Crocket has four receptions for 57 yards and a touchdown and Joshua Robinson accumulated 31 yards on four catches. Jordan Jones was a bright spot on a defense which held the Fighters to just five touchdowns. He finished with nine tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery. Kevin Moore added 4.5 tackles and Taylor Hawkings had two pass break ups. Jeremy Reynolds is averaging 49.0 yards on his kickoff attempts.
GLADIATORS
Duke City is locked in a five-way tie atop the Western Conference and would like nothing more than use this opportunity to get a leg up in the standings. The Gladiators are averaging 47 points per game and giving up 46.5 points per game. Nate Davis came back from last season's injury. He is completing 63 percent of his throws for 375 yards with eight touchdowns and three interceptions through two games on the season. Gary Brown leads the receiving corps with 12 catches for 144 yards and four touchdowns, while Xavier Amey comes in with 12 grabs for 134 yards and three scores. Jason Serda has been outstanding for the Gladiators' defense with 19.5 tackles. Dexter Reese and Byron Cooper each have 12 tackles. Reese adds two interceptions and Cooper leads the team with 1.5 sacks. Roderick Chapman adds 10 tackles of his own. Ernesto Lacayo has one of the stronger legs in the IFL and averages 50.8 on kickoffs.
