Breakdown
PANTHERS
Bay Area stands at 2-2 on the season, which is right in the thick of the Western Conference race. The Panthers exploded to a 34-point home win last week over the defending champion Northern Arizona Wranglers, but this matchup against the new-look Strike Force should be a challenge in and of itself. They score 48.0 points per game and allow 38.0. Dalton Sneed is having himself a fine season, completing 63 percent of his passes for 531 yards with 10 touchdowns and a single interception. He also has 189 yards and six touchdowns on the ground. Justin Rankin comes in with 179 yards and six rushing touchdowns. JT Stokes is Sneed's top target with his 16 catches for 191 yards and five touchdowns, and Nih-Jer Jackson has eight receptions for 102 yards and three scores. Trae Meadows and Marquis Bridges lead the defense with 17.5 and 16.5 tackles, respectively. Trevaughn Grant adds 13 tackles and two sacks, and Wes Bowers also has 13 tackles. James "Kimo" Naehu will be making his debut as the Panthers' kicker.
STRIKE FORCE
San Diego pulled off one of the most exciting wins of the IFL season so far in its double-overtime victory over the Tucson Sugar Skulls last week. After tying the game on the last play of regulation, the Strike Force outlasted the Sugar Skulls in the second OT to preserve the win. They score 32.0 points per game and allow 42.4. Nate Davis, obtained via trade last week with the Duke City Gladiators, is expected to make his Strike Force debut in this one. Davis is one of the best pure passers in the IFL. Though Rudy Johnson, who threw for 218 yards and four touchdowns last week, could also see some action. Marques Rodgers leads a top-tier receiving group with his 26 catches for 329 yards and five touchdowns. Kentrez Bell has 23 catches for 218 yards and five scores, and Carlos Thompson, Jr. adds 18 grabs for 249 yards and two scores. Clayton Glasco's 27.5 tackles pace the defense. DJ Morgan has 19 tackles, and David Haney has 14 tackles and two picks. Aedan Johnson comes into this contest averaging 45.7 yards per kickoff.
