BREAKDOWN
Jacksonville got its first taste of IFL play last weekend at Massachusetts, and it was bitter. The Sharks looked good defensively, but the offense struggled to put points on the board. With a game under their belt, they are relishing the opportunity to steal their first win in their new league in this one at the Dollar Loan Center. Sans for a pair of interceptions, Conor Bount's statline is one of efficiency. He completed 62 percent of his passes for 138 yards and a touchdown. Logan Wright is a capable running back who found the end zone once last week. He also can run routes out of the backfield in the passing game. Brian Smith, Jr. and Marquis McClain combined to catch 13 of Bount's 16 completed passes. Smith seems more of the down-the-field threat while McClain was utilized more underneath. Tamorrion Terry rounds out the receiving group and is a prolific in the kick return game. The defense, which allowed just 26 points to the Pirates, was led by Harrison Poole's nine tackles, two tackles for loss and two pass break ups. Fellow defensive back Caleb Ham also was a bright spot with 6.5 tackles in the opener, and Brion Murray had the team's lone interception, which he returned for a touchdown.

BREAKDOWN
Vegas is flying high after a season opening win at the Arizona Rattlers last week. It was Kevin Macias' 33-yard field goal as time expired which garnered the victory for the Knight Hawks. After going 5-10 last year, they have the opportunity to improve to 2-0 with a win in this game. Ja'Rome Johnson put together a solid game in the opener, completing 56 percent of his throws for 179 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for a IFL season-high 116 yards to go along with three trips to the end zone on the ground. Former Iowa Barnstormer Antonio Wimbush is a dual-threat running back who can do damage in both phases of the offense. As advertised, Quinten Randolph was the go-to receiver for Johnson and he didn't disappoint. That should continue throughout the season. CJ Windham and Caleb Holley made some nice plays as the other two starting receivers. All three caught a touchdown. If last week's game was any indication, defensive backs James Ceasar and Roderick Chapman, linebacker Makel Calhoun and lineman Maurice Jackson are going to give opposing offenses some fits this season. Of note, Jackson recorded 2.5 sacks and Ceasar came up with a pick in the fourth quarter last week.
