BREAKDOWN
San Diego now finds itself on the outside looking in when it comes to the playoff race. The Strike Force pulled out a one-point surprise win over the Western Conference-leading Bay Area Panthers last week. They scored a touchdown with 19 seconds left and, instead of going for an extra point or a traditional two-point conversion. They are sitting a half game back of the fourth-place Northern Arizona Wranglers and are looking to get back into playoff position. A win against a Sugar Skulls team which has struggled over the past month could accomplish just that. A win also would guarantee the first .500 season in franchise history. They've already won the most games in franchise history at seven. The Strike Force score 48.3 points per game (fifth) and allow 43.3 (sixth). Nate Davis is one of the most pure passers in the IFL. He is second in the league in touchdown passes with 49 and third in yards per game with 176.5. Arthur Jackson III is second in the league with 17 touchdown grabs despite missing three games due to suspension, and Jordan Kress is tied for seventh with 12. Rudy Johnson, the backup quarterback has proven himself as a reliable rusher and receiver on offense. Sherrod Williams' 62.5 tackles are good for eighth in the league. Players to Watch: Elijah Lilly (WR); Justic'e King (DB); Atoa Fox (DB); JaQuan Artis (DL).

BREAKDOWN
Tucson has been eliminated from the playoffs, but that's not going to stop it from playing spoiler. The Sugar Skulls, who were the Western Conference's third seed in the playoffs last season, have managed just two wins this season. Furthermore, They've scored just 50 points in their last three games, including a league low of 12 two weeks ago. They managed just 18 points in a loss last week to the Frisco Fighters. week of 12 against the conference-leading Bay Area Panthers. Matching up against a talented Strike Force team is going to be quite a challenge for the Sugar Skulls, who don't seem to have have gained any momentum at any point during the season. The Sugar Skulls score 35.3 points per game (15th) and allow 45.4 (13th). They have had some turnover this season, especially at quarterback where Mylik Mitchell has been put on RTR (refuse to report) and former Iowa Barnstormer backup Zach Reader was signed three weeks ago. Giovanni Sanders made his debut as the starter at quarterback last week against the Fighters. Reader is the only quarterback listed on the active roster. Players to Watch: Mike Jones (RB); Mike Carrigan (WR); Brian Smith (WR); Tyron Laughinghouse (WR); Brayden Utley (DL); Robert Sheffield (DB); JaQuez Jackson (LB).
