Breakdown
STEAMWHEELERS
After dropping its season opener, Quad City has reeled off a pair of wins; including getting past their Eastern Conference rival the Sioux Falls Storm two weeks ago. After coming off a bye, the Steamwheelers are poised to make some noise as they enter the middle stretch of the season. E.J. Hilliard is back to his old self with his 57 percent completion rate, 399 yards, 10 touchdowns and two interceptions. He has also rushed for 156 yards and five touchdowns. CJ Windham leads the team in receiving with 162 yards and three scoring grabs. Keyvan Rudd and Mike Carrigan have each caught touchdowns, and Jarrod Harrington has a receiving touchdown and two rushes for scores. Darreon Jackson's 16.5 tackles and interception lead the Quad City defense. Krystapher Oakley comes in with 10.5 tackles, while Kendricks Gladney, Jr. has 10 tackles and an interception. Chase Allbaugh is a talented kicker with a 46.4-yards-per-kickoff average.
OILERS
Despite being 0-2 to start 2023, Tulsa showed marked improvement in its second game; especially on the offensive side of the ball. The Oilers went from 13 points in their first game to 36 in their second. They'll look to improve on that in their franchise home opener. Bobby Froehlich is completing 54 percent of his passes for 184 yards with three touchdowns and three picks. He leads the team with 23 yards rushing, but the Oilers have yet to register a rushing touchdown this season. Joshua Crockett paces the receiving group with his seven catches for 77 yards and two touchdowns, while Tre King caught four passes for 49 yards and a touchdown in last week's contest. Jordan Jones' 17 tackles and a sack lead the Oilers' defense. Kevin Moore adds 8.5 tackles. Taylor Hawkings comes in with an interception and Gibson Ziah has been a monster on the d-line with 5.5 tackles and a sack. Jeremy Reynolds' averages 51.9 yards per average.
