BREAKDOWN
Bay Area started off the season on a positive note with a hard-fought win at home over the Arizona Rattlers last week. The Panthers are the defending IFL champions and will head across the country to attack last year's National Arena League champion Sharks in this early season Battle of the 2023 Champions. The Panthers hope to remain unbitten in the hopes of going 2-0. They have the talented roster to do it. Daquan Neal has stepped in seemingly effortlessly; even resembling his 2019 IFL MVP self (with the Barnstormers). He comes into the team's second game completing 71 percent of his throws and 152 yards per game. He also rushed for 80 yards and four scores. Shane Simpson is the lead back who scored a touchdown last week. Pierre Williams averaged 11.6 yards per catch last week and JT Stokes was the reliable factor for Neal. Veteran Jazeric Peterson, who caught a touchdown toss against the Rattlers, also figures into the mix. Antwon Kincaide is among the leaders on the defense with 10 tackles last week. Wes Bowers, Morris Joseph, Jr. and Tyler Watson also figure heavily into the mix. Craig “The Leg” Peterson, averages 46.1 yards per kickoff.

BREAKDOWN
Jacksonville is looking for it's first IFL win since moving over from the NAL last season. Perhaps some home-cooking will be just what the doctor ordered. The Sharks have already made the trip up the Eastern Seaboard to face Massachusetts and across the country to Las Vegas for their first two games. Home field advantage in this one will be a key for the Sharks. Whether they can turn the tied is up to player execution and coaching. Conor Blount is completing 55 percent of his passes for 152.5 yards per game. He's thrown four touchdowns, but that has come with four interceptions. Cutting down on the latter will be key for success in this game. Logan Wright comes into this one averaging 3.1 yards per carry with a pair of trips to the end zone. Three different Sharks have caught seven passes which shows Blount can spread the ball around. Brian Smith, Jr. has 98 yards off seven grabs. Kamrin Solomon's 84 yards and three touchdowns all came last week. Marquis McClain is the third seven-reception receiver and has a touchdown. Harrison Poole and Caleb Ham pace the defense with averages of 8.25 and seven tackles per game, respectively. Frankie Onate's kickoff average stands at 47.0.
