With the 2020 NBA season suspended to to the coronavirus outbreak, NBC Sports Northwest has an answer for Blazers fans.
The regional network will televise selected Blazers games to coincide with what would have been the remaining dates on the Blazers. Fans can view everything from the deciding game 6 of the 1977 NBA Finals which brought the team and the region its only championship, to this season's team-record 61-point game by Damian Lillard. The first airing will happen tomorrow at 4 p.m. and will consist of the aforementioned game 6 which drove Blazers fans into a frenzy on June 5, 1977.
On March 12, the NBA suspended the season for 30 days and will re-evaluate possibly extending the suspension at that time. The league was the first major sports league to make the decision in order to protect fans, staffs and teams from the exposure and threat of the spread of the coronavirus, which has now spread to all 50 states. The NBA's decision came after two Utah Jazz players -- Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell -- tested positive for the virus. In the days since, four Brooklyn Nets players are among those who have tested positive for the virus, including future Hall of Famer Kevin Durant.
KPTV and KPDX, local Portland television stations, have already begun to air classic games of the Portland Thorns on Saturdays and the Portland Timbers on Sundays. The fates of each league covered by SCtoC and most major sporting events are still in limbo due to the virus, as we originally reported on March 12.
The following is the schedule of the 12 games to be broadcast. Fans should check their local listings and carriers for the correct channel. All broadcast times are pacific.
Sunday, March 22, 4 p.m. - 1977 NBA Finals Game 6 vs. Philadelphia

Friday, March 27, 6 p.m. - Jusuf Nurkic’s First game vs. Denver (March 28, 2017)
Sunday, March 29, 4:30 p.m. - 2011 NBA playoffs: Game 4 vs. Dallas

Thursday, April 2, 6 p.m. - Clyde Drexler’s near quadruple-double (Jan. 10, 1986)
Sunday, April 5, 6 p.m. - Damian Lillard’s 61-point game (Jan. 20, 2020)

At the time of the suspension, the Blazers were at 29-37 on the season, and two-and-a-half games back of the eighth-place Memphis Grizzlies. The Blazers and Grizzlies were to meet three times this season with two of those still on the schedule. Memphis won the first match up on February 12. The teams were set, in fact, to play on March 12; the day the league announced the suspended season. NBA commissioner Adam Silver stated the league is looking at "all options" as it hopes to resume the season.
