Breakdown
BUCKS
If Bismarck, at 7-6, is in fifth place and could find itself in a position for a coveted fourth seed. The Bucks will probably need to win at least two game to earn a playoff spot. If they win all three of their remaining games, and the Spokane Shock lose their remaining to, the fourth seed is there for the taking. That could mean a home playoff game for the first time in their history. That is a far cry from the 2019 season in which they went just 2-12. These things are certainly attainable. With Caleb Lewis injured and Kelly Bryant with the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League, Kenyate Allen will get his second start of the season for the Bucks. Through a game and a half, he's completing 63 percent of his passes with five touchdowns and no picks. He also is dangerous on the ground, rushing for 46 yards per game and a pair of scores. Justin Rankin is among the league's best rushers and figures to play a prominent role here. JT Stokes has 32 catches for 514 yards and 13 touchdowns, and Raheem Harvey had 32 receptions for 461 yards and nine scores. Darreon Jackson and Zuril Hendrick are the playmakers on defense, and Da'von Keith leads the pass rush.
BARNSTORMERS
Heading into the final three games of the season, the Barnstormers are on the outside looking in. That's not to say there isn't opportunity to earn a playoff spot. They have a couple of winnable games remaining against the Bucks, Sioux Falls Storm. However, they finish the season with a trip to Massachusetts to battle a Pirates team which is battling for the top seed in the playoffs. The Barnstormers have promise with a veteran head coach in Les Moss and the IFL's Most Valuable player from 2019 in Daquan Neal. Regardless, there is talent on the roster. Neal is a dual threat quarterback who has been more effective on the ground than through the air, but he's potent in both areas. Neal has 24 touchdowns and just six picks as a passer and he is averaging over 43 yards per game with 13 scores on the ground. Elad Covaliu had been stellar all season long. He is a punishing runner who brings 32.5 yards per game with eight touchdowns. Carrington Thompson, Sr. and Connor Hollenbeck lead a tough receiving group. Tony Jones' 57 tackles and two sacks lead the team, while David Haney has 45 tackles and a team-high 2 picks. John McClure adds 42 tackles to the defense.
