Breakdown
BLIZZARD
The bad news for Green Bay is that they have started off the season 0-2. The good news is that both losses came to the same team, the Bismarck Bucks, who have defeated them six straight times. The Blizzard will attempt to get back on track as they visit the Barnstormers for the team's first meeting of the season. Torrance Gibson has taken the helm of the Blizzard offense. He come into this game completing just 39 percent of his throws with six touchdowns and no interceptions, and is averaging 96.5 passing yards per game. Gibson also leads the team in rushing yards with 79. The Blizzard, who feature De'Shawn Jones as their lead back, have yet to score a rushing touchdown through two game. There is a talented group of receivers on the roster, led by the seven receptions for 72 yards with four touchdowns from Dez Stewart. Keshaun Taylor has a pair of catches for 46 yards. Damian King, Jr. and Steven Newbold each have scoring grabs. James Brown and Momodou Mbye lead the defense, while Mason Gray has two interceptions and Tyrell Jacobs adds a sack. Nick Jaworski has been largely effective as the Blizzard's kicker thus far.
BARNSTORMERS
Iowa stumbled in it's season opener in week 2, but rebounded with a dominating win over the Sioux Falls Storm last week. That win was amplified by big plays in all three aspects of the game. In addition to running an effective offense, the Barnstormers scored touchdowns via a kickoff return and a fumble return; both of no less than 49 yards. Darius-James Peterson has been impressive in his first two IFL games. He is completing 59 percent of his passes for 264 yards with four touchdowns and a single pick. Peterson also leads the team in rushing, averaging 39 yards per game along with a pair of touchdown runs. Alvin Bailey and Eric Thomas, Jr. have 68 and 61 receiving yards, respectively. Kentrez Bell has scored three times on his three touchdown receptions this season; all of them coming in the win last week over the Storm. Jordan baldwin and Ian McBorrough lead a team-effort defense with 19 and 13 tackles, respectively. Four players, including McBorrough, each have an interception, while five players have pass break ups. J.R. Stevens recovered and returned a fumble 49 yards for a score last week. Gabriel Rui is the team's kicker.
