Breakdown
FIGHTERS
Frisco hasn't lost a beat from last season's team which earned the third seed in the IFL playoffs. That's a testament to new head coach Billy Back who replaced Clint Dolezel after the latter stepped away during the off season. Back has built a strong roster with a solid defense. After falling to the defending champion Massachusetts Pirates in the opener, the Fighters have reeled off a pair of impressive wins. Back utilizes a rotation at quarterback. Blake Sims has taken the majority of snaps, but T.J. Edwards provides a competition at the position. Sims has thrown for 335 yards and seven touchdowns, and Edwards has 183 yards and four touchdowns. Both are capable rushers out of the backfield. Former Bismarck Buck Justin Rankin Leads the IFL in rushing with 171 yards and five touchdowns. Sheldon Augustine, Laquvionte Gonzalez and Jerminic Smith make a formidable trio of receivers in the passing game. Frisco's defense is led by defensive linemen Charles Williams and J.D. Griggs, and defensive back Cam Hilton. Bryce Crawford brings stability to the kicking game.
BLIZZARD
To say Green Bay has struggled thus far this season would be an understatement. The Blizzard possess a formidable defense, holding their opponents to 30.3 points per game. The problem is that their offense is only scoring 22.7 points per outing. The Blizzard's 0-3 record is their worst start to a season since 2018 in which they finished 2-12. Head coach Corey Roberson will look to turn that around against the Fighters. Torrance Gibson has gotten the start in the team's first three games and completing 40 percent of his passes for 207 yards with six touchdowns and zero picks. Roberson could make a change and insert Jack Sheehan into the game which he did last last game. Sheehan went 11 of 19 for 75 yards with a pair of touchdowns. Gibson also leads the team with 121 yards. Green Bay has yet to score a rushing yard this season. Keshaun Taylor, Dez Stewart, Steven Newbold and Shaquan Curenton make up the receiving corps for which ever quarterback will see action. James Brown, Dajour Nesbeth and Momodu Mbye lead the defense. Nick Jaworski is the team's kicker.
