Breakdown
PIRATES
Massachusetts did what it need to last week to eek out a win at Bismarck over the pesky Bucks, but the win wasn't particularly impressive. The Pirates have the IFL arrow on their backs this season after wining the United Bowl. Though their wins this season have been close, but that should go to show that their experience and ability to close out games should help them the rest of the season. They have a chance to extend their winning streak to 15 with a win in this one. Alejandro Bennifield is off to a terrific start this season. He had career-highs of 262 yards and six touchdowns in last week's win. He's completing over 59 percent of his passes for 513 yards with 11 touchdowns and three interceptions on the year, and has rushed for two scores. Martez Carter is the lead back. Thomas Owens comes as one of the top receivers in the league with his 15 catches for 215 yards and four touchdowns. Dontez Byrd adds three touchdown grabs. Khalid Wooten and Chucky Williams lead a stalwart defense, while Aarion Maxey-Penton has a pair of interceptions for the defense. Jimmy Camacho has been solid after taking over the kicking duties the past two games.
BLIZZARD
Green Bay has struggled to put up points when they needed to this season, but took the Frisco Fighters down to the final seconds in their loss last week. The Blizzard did not anticipate being winless after four games this season and this will be the second time in two weeks that they face a top-three IFL team. They took the Fighters to the brink, and will look to knock off the defending champions. This is the second of three straight home games for Green Bay. After his performance last week it's likely that Jack Sheehan will get the start against the Pirates. He comes in completing 54 percent of his passes with a touchdown-to-interception ratio of seven-to-one. He's more of a pocket passer and found his stride last week. Veteran Keshaun Taylor is the leading receiver with 167 yards with four touchdowns, and Dez Stewart has 121 yards with a team-leading five touchdown grabs. Green Bay's defense James Brown leads the IFL with 29 tackles, and Mason Gray comes in with21 tackles two interceptions and three pass break ups. Momodu Mbye and Tyrell Jacobs are also playmakers on defense. Nick Jaworski has struggled at times, but remains the Blizzard kicker.
