Breakdown
BLIZZARD
Green Bay is still in the Eastern Conference playoff hunt, but the window is closing. The Blizzard's two-point win over the Sioux Falls Storm helped, but they will be on the road for their last two games. The road has been unfriendly to the Blizzard this season, as they've won just one of six games away from the Resch Center this season. They are scoring 32.1 points per game (12th) and allowing 32.8 (third). Jack Sheehan has been excellent since taking over the starting job in week 5. He is fourth in the league with 1,695 passing yards, and fourth with 34 touchdowns. He completes 56.7 percent of his throws, and has rushed for 296 yards and seven touchdown. Tim Whitfield has three rushing touchdowns. Keshaun Taylor is second in the IFL with 18 touchdown catches while accumulating 539 yards. Steven Newbold and Shaquan Curenton have nine and five scoring catches, respectively. James Brown and Momodou Mbye are the top two tacklers in the IFL with 85.5 and 81, respectively. Brown has 14.5 tackles for loss, and both have two interceptions on the season. Nick Jaworski has become one of the more reliable kickers in the IFL.
FIGHTERS
A win for Frisco won't clinch the top seed in the playoffs, but it would clinch home-field advantage in at least the first round. The Fighters have reeled off six straight wins, which is a franchise-long, and finish the regular season with a three-game homestand. They control their own destiny and are playing their best football of the season. They are scoring 47.8 points per game (third) and are allowing 37.4 (sixth). TJ Edwards got the start at quarterback last week with exceptional results in their win. He went 16 of 20 for 191 yards with two touchdowns, and rushed 11 times for 60 yards and five scores. Justin Rankin leads the league with 52.0 rushing yards per game, but is on short-term IR. He also has caught four scores. Jerminic Smith and Sheldon Augustine come in with 484 yards and 479, respectively. Smith has nine touchdowns and Augustine has six. Trey Wafford's 53.5 tackles leads the team, and he adds two interceptions. Charles Williams has five sacks and Santos Ramirez enters this one with four interceptions in addition to his 44.5 tackles. Craig Peterson possesses one of the strongest legs in indoor/arena football.
