The Fighters still managed to score 35 points and their defense held the Oilers to 13 points for the win. T.J. Edwards comes in completing 62 percent of his passes for 245 yards and a touchdown. He leads the IFL with seven rushing touchdowns and has 111 rushing yards. Ed Wesley is the lead running back with 47 yards and three touchdowns. Spencer Tears has 12 catches for 101 yards, and Jerminic Smith has nine grabs for 90 yards. Royce See leads the team with 8.5 tackles, Michael Lovett has tallied 5.5 sacks and a pair of interceptions, and Trayshon Foster enters this game with 5.5 tackles and the teams lone sack. Bryce Crawford averages 50.6 yards per kickoff.
GLADIATORS
Duke City took care of business in their season-opening trip to Northern Arizona Wranglers last week, earning a 43-35 win. Nate Davis, who missed the great majority of last season to injury, was spectacular in the opener, completing 73 of his throws for 198 yards and four touchdowns in leading the Gladiators to the win. Gary Brown was Davis' top receiver with his seven catches for 87 yards and two touchdowns. Xavier Amey hauled in six passes for 46 yards and a score. Veteran defenders Dexter Reese and Jason Serda each tallied eight tackles in the opener; Reese picked off two passes and Serda recorded the first sack of Duke City's season. Former Arizona Rattler Ernesto Lacayo boasted a 49.6-yard kickoff average and was perfect on all six of his extra point attempts.
