Breakdown
WRANGLERS
Northern Arizona got back on the winning track last week after a disastrous week 6 outing against the Vegas Knight Hawks. Just a half game back of the Sugar Skulls for the Western Conference lead. A win here would guarantee them at least a share of first place as they begin to enter the midpoint of the season. Garrett Kettle has been a bright spot since taking over in the season opener. He is completing 55 percent of his passes for 661 yards, 14 touchdowns and four interceptions, while rushing for 53.2 yards per game and three scores. Jarrod Ware, Jr. has rushed for 133 yards and two touchdowns, and has 22 receptions for 202 yards and a touchdown. Ramaud Chiaokhiao-Bowman leads the team with 24 catches for 317 yards and eight touchdowns. Ryan Wisniewski adds eight grabs for 148 yards and four scores. The defense is paced by Kishawn Walker leads the defense with 19 tackles and three interceptions, and Dorian Walker comes in with 18.5 tackles and a pick. Tramond Lofton adds 17 tackles and 3.5 sacks. Brandon Fischer is as solid as they come and boasts a 45.7-yard kickoff average.
SUGAR SKULLS
Tucson sits atop the Western Conference standings and has no intention of giving up that position with a loss in its home arena. Traditionally, this has been a tremendous rivalry dating back to 2021; the Wranglers' inaugural season. The Sugar Skulls are coming off a bye week and have to have been licking their chops to get at the Wranglers. Ramone Atkins is enjoying a solid season with his 63 percent completion rate for 555 yards, 13 touchdowns and four interceptions. He also has rushed for nearly 100 yards and three scores. Mike Jones averages 39.3 yards per game with seven touchdowns on the ground. Jones also is active out of the backfield in the passing game. Carrington Thompson, Sr. enters this contest with 26 catches for 321 yards and nine touchdowns. MJ Harris and Dylan Pearson are other receivers to watch in this one. Mike Minter and Trae'varis have tallied 18 and 16.5 tackles, respectively. Rashie Hodge adds 14 tackles and a team-high two interceptions, and Ronald Collins has 11 tackles and a pair of sacks. Victor Leventritt averages 46.3 yards per kickoff for the Sugar Skulls.
