Breakdown
GLADIATORS
Duke City is in a bit of disarray after trading away veteran quarterback Nate Davis to the San Diego Strike Force for quarterbacks Aaron Aiken and Demry Croft, and defensive lineman Jeremiah Caine. However, the Gladiators have had a bye week to adjust their new players into the system prior to this matchup against the IFL's best. Aiken had the better start to the season in San Diego, but Croft wasn't too far behind him for the Strike Force. The duo completed just four of 13 passes for 39 yards and an interception in Duke City's loss to the Vegas Knight Hawks two weeks ago. Gary Brown is the team's top target with his 27 catches for 325 yards and eight interceptions. Xavier Amey adds 19 grabs for 222 yards and five scores. Jason Serda has 30.5 tackles for the defense, as well as 1.5 sacks. Roderick Chapman comes in with 24 tackles and is tied for the league lead with four interceptions. Jimmy Thomas has 20 tackles and Dexter Reese has three picks. Ernesto Lacayo has one of the strongest legs in the IFL and is averaging 53.5 yards per kickoff.
FIGHTERS
Frisco is in the driver's seat in the Eastern Conference standings. The Fighters have a two-game lead in the loss column and currently own the tiebreakers (though that could change as the season progresses. The Fighters are first in the IFL in scoring at 55 points per game and second in points allowed at 35.2. TJ Edwards had a breakout season for the Frisco offense. He is completing 62 percent of his throws for 718 yards with eight touchdowns and zero interceptions. Also dangerous on the ground, he rushes for 50.2 yards per game to go along with a league-leading 15 rushing scores. Jimmy Smith is the lead back with 31.7 yards per game and five touchdowns. Jerminic Smith and Phazione McClurge have 260 and 186 receiving yards, respectively, and each has three receiving scores. Koredell Jackson paces the Fighters' defense with 26 tackles and an interception, and Shaw Bond is right behind with 24.5 tackles and a pair of picks. Michael Lovett is tied for the league lead with four interceptions. Talented Bryce Crawford averages 50.3 yards per kickoff.
