Breakdown
BLIZZARD
After its week 1 loss to the Bucks, Green Bay had a bye week to regroup for this season's round two against a team which has become its recent rival over the past few years. The Blizzard are looking to go back to their 2019 form when they finished 9-5 (after finishing 2-12 in 2018) and earned a home playoff game. Torrance Gibson had a rough outing in the passing game, completing just 35 percent of his passes, but he had 105 yards with three touchdowns. He had a nice game on the ground, averaging 9.7 yards per carry. The vibe is similar to a former Blizzard quarterback, Lenorris Footman, who struggled through the air early in the 2019 season, but actually became one of the IFL's top passers as that season progressed. Dez Stewart caught all three scores against the Bucks two weeks ago. He, Keshaun Taylor and Shaquan Curenton are a formidable trio of wide receivers. veteran Mason Gray headlines the defense. Tyrell Jacobs and Jordan Jones have sacks on the young season, while Dajour Nesbeth has an interception. Nick Jaworski handles the kicking duties for the Blizzard.
BUCKS
After falling to the Blizzard both times in 2019 after moving over from Champions Indoor Football prior to that season, Bismarck has won five straight over Green Bay dating back to its 4-0 sweep of the Blizzard last season. Bismarck showed some resilience last week against the Sioux Falls Storm, but their comeback was thwarted when the Chase Allbaugh's 30-yard field goal attempt was blocked with three seconds remaining. Had that kick been good, the Bucks would be charging into this game undefeated. Bismarck is the only team which has yet to have a bye week; that comes in week 4. Tahj Tolbert comes in completing 59 percent of his passes for 119 yards with a trio of touchdowns and just one pick. John Brunner had eight catches for 55 yards and a pair of scores, while Rob Brown has caught five balls for 51 yards with a trip to the end zone. Aagil Sheppard, Roman Morris and Patrick Morris are the stalwarts on defense. Armonti Carey had the teams lone sack through its first two games. Four players have a single pass break up. Allbaugh is two of four on his field goal tries; long of 31 yards.
