BREAKDOWN
After losing nine of its first 10 games of the season, Iowa has coming off to straight wins. The Barnstormers provided the shocker of the week (and perhaps the season) when they knocked down these same Steamwheelers by 39 points. The lopsided win was even more impressive than their 30-point win over the Massachusetts Pirates on May 13. The story of the season is that when the Barnstormers win, they tend to win big and against opponents quite possibly headed to the postseason. Despite the victory, they were eliminated from the playoffs. Running back Antonio Wimbush has accounted for 710 yards from scrimmage and 24 touchdowns on the season. They score 40.7 points per game (12 in IFL) and allow 52.0 (14th).

BREAKDOWN
Quad City seems to be headed in the wrong direction as the season winds down. The Steamwheelers have an opportunity over their final three games to earn a playoff spot, and maybe even move into the top two where they would host a first round playoff game. After their 80-41 loss to the Barnstormers last week, it's hard to call any contact a "gimme," The schedule is favorable for the Steamwheelers. It includes this game, and a home matchup against the Green Bay Blizzard and a visit to the expansion Tulsa Oilers to close out the regular season. E.J. Hilliard has been the constant as he leads the league with 43 touchdowns passing and is third with 23 rushing scores. They score 49.9 points per game (fifth in IFL) and allow 49.1 (11th).
