BREAKDOWN
Bay Area looks even stronger through its first two games than during last season's championship run. After spending the first two weeks of the season on bye weeks, the Panthers have reeled off two strong wins over the Arizona Rattlers and Jacksonville Sharks. Now, they look to make it three in a row with this visit to the Sugar Skulls. The last time these two teams met resulted in a 46-34 Panthers win in the first round of last year's playoffs. Daquan Neal has stepped into as quarterback and is running with it. He is a true, dual-threat player who is completing 72 percent of his passes for 150.0 yards per game with five touchdowns and no interceptions. He 56 yards per game and a trio of touchdowns on the ground. Shane Simpson rushes for 34.5 yards per game and a team-high four touchdowns. Pierre Williams is the top receiver on a talented trio at the position with his 63.5 yards per game with a touchdown. JT Stokes adds 35 yards per game and a touchdown, and Jazeric Peterson has 31 yards and a touchdown per game. Antwon Kincade's 13 tackles paces the defense, and Tevaughn Grant has a team-high two tackles. Craig “The Leg” Peterson averages 48.1 yards per kickoff. The Panthers are scoring 47.5 points per game (fifth) and are allowing 32.5 (fourth).

BREAKDOWN
Tucson righted the ship last week after a season-opening loss in week 3. The Sugar Skulls have reached the playoffs three of their previous four IFL seasons, but have never advanced past the first round. They've also never hosted a playoff game. With this; the first year under Billy Back, the team will look to accomplish that. This home date against the defending champions is the first step, and it won't be easy. They may have success if they can scrap their way to a win as they did last week against the Gladiators. Mylik Mitchell is completing 69 percent of his throws for 141. yards per game with four touchdowns and a pick. He also rushes for 77 yards a game with a pair of touchdowns. Mike Jones is the workhorse who leads the IFL with seven rushing scores and is a receiving threat out of the backfield. Mike Carrigan is the key receiver on the team with his 54 yards per game off eight catches. Demario McCall also fits into the receiving mix for the S?Sugar Skulls. James Jackson and Brayden Utley come in with eight tackles apiece. Robert Sheffield adds an interception to his six tackles, and Chris Jefferson also has a pick on defense. Demitri Fotinos has an average of 50.6 yards on his kickoffs. The Sugar Skulls score 52.0 points per game (second) and allow an identical 52.0 (15th).
