BREAKDOWN
Jacksonville did not anticipate being 0-4 when they made the move from the National Arena League to the IFL. While it’s been a rude awakening, the Sharks are putting some things together to be competitive. They make another trip out west so it’s curious whether the travel and time adjustment will have an effect on the team in this contest. The Sharks face a Rattlers team which appears to be on an upswing so this could be the opportunity the Sharks are waiting for. A loss puts the Sharks behind the eight-ball as they embark on the second portion of their season. The team may have found its next quarterback with Fred Payton, Jr. Stepping into the starting role for Conor Blount after the latter suffered an injury. Payton completed 56 percent of his passes for 137 yards with three touchdowns and an interception. He also rushed for 52 yards and two scores in last week’s loss to the Vegas Knight Hawks. Tamorrion Terry averages 46.7 receiving yards per game, but did not play last week. Kamrin Solomon is averaging nearly 40 yards per game with a team-high five touchdowns. Jeremiah Payton, who had three touchdown catches last week, comes in with 11 catches fo 115 yards and four scores. The defense is led by the 26.5 tackles of Harrison Poole. Jabari Gorman adds 15.5 tackles, while Brion Murray and Caleb Ham have 15 tackles apiece. Frankie Onate has a kickoff average of 47.5 yards with three deuces. The Sharks score 28.3 points per game (16th) and allow 43.5 (ninth).

BREAKDOWN
Arizona has looked as if it has some kinks in its armor from past seasons. Some of that has been inconsistency at the quarterback position, but the defense just doesn’t seem to be as stout as it has been recently. The Rattlers escaped a win against the now 0-4 Iowa Barnstormers and this week play yet another winless team in the Sharks. This bodes well for the Rattlers, who can move to .500 with a win. That could signify a rebound during this early part of the season. It also would square up the team as it heads into its second bye of the season in week 8. With Dalton Sneed injured and Lorenzo Brown, Jr. Back with the Sioux Falls Storm, Garrett Kettle should get the start again under center. He’s had a small sample size this year, but is completing 71 percent of his throws for 239 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions. He also is rushing for 4.0 yards per carry with another score. Shanon Brooks rushes for 40 yards per game to go with seven touchdowns. He also has a receiving score. Glen Gibbons, Jr. Is one of the top receivers in the league with his 65.6 yards per game and 10 touchdown grabs. Both numbers are tops in the league. Isaiah Huston and Jamal Miles come in with 46.5 and 38.2 yards per game, respectively. Jarmaine Doubs leads the defense with 22.5 tackles. Connor Taylor adds 22 and Rashie Hodge has 20.Dawson Evitts comes in averaging 47.6 yards per kickoff. The Rattlers average 45.8 points per game (seventh) and allow 46.8 (13th).
