BREAKDOWN
Bay Area hopes to get back into the win column after dropping its first game of the season last week to the Vegas Knight Hawks. The Panthers will be especially hungry as they attempt to stay on pace with the Knight Hawks near the top of the Western Conference standings. This is a test against another team coming off a loss; the Wranglers who are having a strong season as well. These battles tend to be knock-down, drag-out battles and this one promises to be the same. This is the first of a two-game road trip to Arizona as they face the Rattlers next week. It’s hard to predict which quarterback will get the start for the Panthers, but it appears Daquan Neal will be ready to go after nursing a lingering injury. He comes in completing 63 percent of his passes with eight touchdowns and no picks. He also rushes for over 47 yards per game with five touchdowns on the year. Shane Simpson leads the Panthers with seven rushing touchdowns. JT Stokes has 40.8 receiving yards per game and Jazeric Peterson adds 39.5. Peterson and Stokes seven and three scoring grabs, respectively. With Antwon Kincade and his 31 tackles on injured reserve, the onus on defense will be on Tyler Watson (22.5) tackles and Tevaughn Grant whose 3.5 tackles are tied for fourth in the league. Bill Atkins and B.J. Taufalele also are players to watch on the defensive side of the ball. Scott Enos has a 45.3-yard kickoff average since joining Bay Area. The Panthers average 44.7 points per game (seventh) and allow 40.0 (fourth).

BREAKDOWN
Northern Arizona promises to be hungry after dropping its second game of the season last week at the San Diego Strike Force. The Wranglers are locked in tie with the Strike Force for third place in the Western Conference. A win over the Panthers would pull the Wranglers into at least a two-way tie with the Panthers for second. That would be big heading as the season gets set to head into the playoff race. There is an extra badge of honor to the victor in this one which pits the winners of the last two IFL National Championship Games. Joshua Jones is making a strong case for himself as Offensive Rookie of the Year. He comes in completing 67 percent of his throws and is tied for tied in the league with 19 touchdown passes. His 161 passing yards per game rank fourth (all first among rookies). He also leads the team with 203 rushing yards and seven touchdowns passes. The Wranglers’ rushing attack, aside from Jones, is a bit of a hodgepodge of wide receivers filling spots at the moment as they don’t have an official running back listed on the roster. Arsiah “RZ” McCorker and John Maldonado lead the team with 20 catches and seven touchdowns each, and 278 and 260 yards, respectively. Gene Coleman II and Kobay White also will figure into the mix. Shanon Reid’s 32 tackles are tied for ninth in the IFL, and he is tied for fourth with 3.5 sacks. Travion Banks leads the team with three interceptions to go with 22 tackles. Axel Perez has an average of 46.7 yards per kickoff. The Wranglers score 45.5 points per game (sixth) and allow 43.2 (sixth).
