BREAKDOWN
Tulsa is looking to avoid a four-game slide and put itself back into playoff position, but that will be a tall order against a Pirates team which has lost two in a row of its own. Still, the Oilers have been competitive at times this season, but have found their last two games just out of reach. They are only one game out of a playoff spot and already have a win this year over the fourth-place Quad City Steamwheelers. Much of the onus will be on the defensive side to contain a talented Pirates offense. This is the last of three straight road games for the Oilers. Andre Sale, who started a handful of games at quarterback last year for the Oilers, took over last week for starter Daniel Smith for unknown reasons and completed 18 of 35 passes for 160 yards, six touchdowns and two interceptions. Jarrod Ware, Jr. provides most of the rushing option out of the backfield and has four trips to the end zone on the ground and is the third-leading receiver with 168 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Alexis Rosario is the team’s top receiver at 54.1 yards per game and is tied for second in the IFL with 12 scoring grabs. Jonathan Nance comes in with 170 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Linebacker Jordan jones ranks second in the league with 46.5 tackles, and Tre Harvey is 10th with 42.5 to go along with an interception. Noah Lyles is in a five-way tie for second in the IFL with four sacks. Michael Hall averages 46.4 yards per kickoff. The Oilers average 41.6 points per game (11th) and 45.5 allow (ninth).

BREAKDOWN
Massachusetts saw its 14-game home regular season winning streak come to an end in a one-point loss to the Northern Arizona Wranglers last week. that’s not going to sit to well with the Pirates, who whose last loss on a regular season schedule came over two years ago (That’s not counting their playoff loss to the Quad City Steamwheelers in 2022). After dropping two straight overall, they will be looking to get back on the winning track and make a run at the Eastern Conference title during the second half of the season. Alejandro Bennifield started, and Connor Dagenhardt finished the contest against the Wranglers. It’s unknown if the change was injury related. Bennifield is completing 65 percent of his throws and is fifth in the IFL with 18 passing touchdowns. He also has nine scoring runs. Dagenhardt is completing 69 percent of his passes with five touchdowns and three picks. Jimmie Robinson is among the most talented backs in the league with 53.7 yards per game and 10 touchdowns; five of which he scored last week. Teo Redding (47.5 yards per game, eight touchdowns) and Thomas Owens (37.9, seven) are the receivers to watch for either quarterback taking the snaps. Calvin Bundage’s 46 tackles are good for third in the IFL. He also leads the team with 3.5 sacks Matt Elam come in with 35.5 tackles, while Devin Hafford adds 32.5. Cyrus Fagan looks to take over kicking duries with Josh Gable’s release this week. The Pirates score 41.6 points per game (10th) and allow 38.4 (second).
