Breakdown
GLADIATORS
Duke City seems to always have a high-flying offense. However, they have had defensive struggles over their tenure in the IFL. That has made for some of the more exciting games over the past few years from the Gladiators. The offense looks again to be strong as Nate Davis returns as quarterback after having been injured during in last year's season opener and missing the rest of the season. Davis was a leading passer two seasons ago and is poised to make a triumphant return this year. He'll have some help in experienced wide receivers Ryan Balentine and Gregory Dent, Jr. Balentine, in particular, is the all-time leading receiver in IFL history. Vincent Gregory and Eriq Swiftwater also can make an impact. Linebacker Jason Serda, defensive backs Roderick Chapman and Dexter Reese should set the pace on the defensive side of the ball.
WRANGLERS
Northern Arizona stunned the IFL world last year by claiming the 2022 IFL National Championship. The Wranglers overtook the perennial favorite Arizona Rattlers; a new in-state rival to get the the championship game. The team is going to look quite a bit different with several members of that roster gone, but head coach Les Moss will have his guys ready for 2023. Garrett Kettle and Nick Watson are the quarterbacks on the roster. A trio of returning receivers will give which ever quarterback who starts. Glen Gibbons, Jr., Jerrime Neal and Ramaud Chiaokhiao-Bowman are a solid trio which can cause problems for opposing defenses. Defensive lineman Theo Majette was acquired in a trade from the Rattlers. Lineman Tramond Lofton and defensive back Dorian Walker return to anchor the defense. Brandon Fischer returns as the team's kicker.
