BREAKDOWN
Tucson is making its second-straight trip to the playoffs and the third in their four-year tenure in the IFL. The Sugar Skulls were eliminated in the first round of last year's playoffs by the eventual champion Northern Arizona Wranglers and will look to advance this postseason against an upstart Panthers squad. Though on the road, the Sugar Skulls actually performed better away from home (6-1) than they did at the Tucson Convention Center (3-5) this season. That should give them some added confidence as they march into Prescott Valley for this contest. They won four of their last seven regular season games over the course of the season to set up their trip to the playoffs. Ramone Atkins is a natural passer and Carrington Thompson, Sr. is his top target. Mike Jones provides an extra punch in the rushing game and can catch the ball out of the backfield. Rashie Hodge tied for third in the league with his seven interceptions. They score. 44.1 points per game (ninth in IFL) and allow 41.6 (third).

BREAKDOWN
Bay Area has come a long way from its 1-15 record last year as an expansion team. The team was entirely revamped and has been turned into a legitimate contender. The Panthers are the only team this season to have defeated both conferences' top seeds (Arizona Rattlers and Frisco Fighters). Should they be able to win this game and set up a matchup with (potentially) for the Rattlers in the Western Conference Championship, that contest could be something special. They have won six of their last eight, including their last two games. Ironically, the two losses during that span also came to the Rattlers and Fighters on the road. Dalton Sneed, via both the air and the ground, has put himself in the MVP conversation. Justin Rankin is one of the best backs in the league, and led all running backs with 36 touchdowns and receiver JT Stokes comes in with 23. The Panthers come in healthy on defense with Trae Meadows adding five interceptions to his 68 tackles. They score 51.7 points per game (51.7 in IFL) and allow 44.1 (fifth).
