BREAKDOWN
Sioux Falls engineered a fourth quarter rally against the Massachusetts Pirates for the second time in as many weeks to earn this trip to the Eastern Conference Championship Game. This is quite possibly the final game in the tenure of head coach Kurtiss Riggs, who has announced his retirement after the season concludes. If the Storm can pull off the upset, Riggs will coach for a championship in his final game. They have won five of their last six games, including last week's thrilling come-from-behind win over the Pirates. Lorenzo Brown, Jr. has looked exceptional at the quarterback position and Xavier Jackson is back form injury at running back. They are strong on a defense led by LaRonji Vason-McCoy and James brown, who were second and third in tackles, respectively. They score 46.8 points per game and allow 43.3 through last weekend's quarterfinals.
QUARTERFINAL RESULTS
The Storm scored the final 21 points of regulation in just over 10 minutes to complete the rally in their first round contest against the Pirates. Brown tossed three touchdowns over that span - to Cole Thurness, Donnie Corley, Jr. and Jackson. Jackson, who returned from IR prior to the regular season finale two weeks ago, is a dual-threat back who can do damage both on the ground and through the air. Brown threw for 183 yards and five touchdowns with no interceptions, and Jackson finished with four receptions for 92 yards and two scores. Recap. Boxscore.

BREAKDOWN
Frisco keeps rolling and had no trouble dispensing of the Quad City Steamwheelers in the opening round of the playoffs last week. The Fighters are winners of six straight heading into this game. They're just one game away from reaching the IFL National Championship Game for the first time in their history. The accomplishments are even more impressive given the coaching change which occurred midway through the season. Andre Cole will have his team ready. TJ Edwards, an MVP candidate in the league this year, has been impressive all year long and is a threat in both the passing and running games. Jerminic Smith, Paziaone McClurge and Jordan Jolly make up an impressive trio of receivers. Rookie Kordell Jackson seems to get better as the season goes along, including the playoffs. They score 53.8 yards per game and allow a league-low 38.1 through last week's quarterfinal round.
QUARTERFINAL RESULTS
The Fighters broke out to a 30-0 nothing lead in the first 29 minutes of the contest and they never relented as they never let the Steamwheelers get closer than the final margin of 28 points in the 57-29 win. The victory avenged Quad City's win at Frisco last season in the Eastern Conference Championship Game. Edwards completed nearly 82 percent of his passes for 183 yards and four touchdowns, and rushed for 43 yards and three more scores. McClurge had four catches for 65 yards. Jolly caught two touchdowns, and Smith and Charles Headen III had one each. Recap. Boxscore.
