Pirates Breakdown
Massachusetts is trying to do what Arizona did four years ago. That is, to win the United Bowl after moving to the IFL from another indoor football league during the previous offseason. The Pirates, who moved from the National Arena League to the IFL, are on a 10-game winning streak (including their two playoff victories). Over their past five games, the Pirates have allowed their last four episodes just 19.0 points per game. Take the two playoff games and have allowed just 21.5 points per game. Against the Bucks in the first round, Alejandro Bennifield threw for two touchdowns and ran for another, and Thomas Owens hauled in a pair of scores in a commanding 44-19 win. The defense forced three turnovers in the first half last week against the Frisco Fighters en route to a 23-9 lead at the break, and held on for the 43-22 win.
Bennifield appeared in all 15 of the team's games this season; starting 14 of them (including the playoff win. He completed 55 percent of his passes for 37 touchdowns and eight interceptions and has rushed for 16 touchdowns during the regular season. Justin Stockton averaged nearly 36 yards per game with nine scores on the ground. Owens was second in the league with 65.1 receiving yards and 22 touchdowns. Dontez Byrd and Laquvionte Gonzalez compliment Owens in the receiving game. Gonzalez is also a threat in the kickoff return game. Santos Ramirez led the defense with 84 tackles, and Harlan Miller has 57 tackles and five interceptions during the regular season. Da'Sean Downey had four sacks.

Rattlers Breakdown
Arizona claimed the United Bowl title in 2017, but have been unable to complete the journey to their second IFL title and will try to use this opportunity to accomplish just that. The Rattlers are on a seven-game winning streak of their own. They're right where they want to be, and right where they expected to be. They earned the top seed in the playoffs and have enjoyed home field advantage throughout the playoffs. The Rattlers are both second in points scored and points allowed per game (see below). In addition to winning the United Bowl four years ago, the Rattlers were tied for the most touchdowns in the Arena Football League with five. Drew Powell threw for 170 yards and five touchdowns (to four different receivers) in the first round 69-42 win last week over the Storm. Powell and Darrell Monroe each rushed for three touchdowns as they rallied for a 58-55 win over the Duke City Gladiators in last week's semifinals.
Neal completed a league-high 69 percent of his passes with 30 touchdowns and seven interceptions during the regular season. In addition to Davis, he is the other primary candidate for league MVP. He rushes for a league-high 64.4 yards per game with 35 scores. Veteran Darrell Monroe and rookie Nick LaSane are two more-than-capable rushers who combined for 16 scores on the ground. LaSane started in last week's game, but both may see action here. Jarrod Harrington is the go-to receiver for the Rattlers who had 52 catches for 620 yards and 11 touchdowns. Look for Jamal Miles to get targets in this one. Devin Cockrell's 65 tackles led the team, and Dillon Winfrey added 59 and a league-high 11 picks. Nikolas D'Avanzo had seven sacks.
